Basement Laundry and Office/Bedroom

The basement is partially finished, and is accessed from the family room, as shown in this first picture. The door on the left leads to the basement. The door on the right leads to the garage.

This second picture is the view from the stairs, coming down into the laundry/storage area. There is roughed-in plumbing to the back on the left. There is also a permanent ironing board on the back wall. The washer and dryer hookups are on the right.

As you can see, there is plenty of storage space here in the laundry area.

This third picture shows the dryer, and the furance and hot water heater, by the stairs. There is also a water softener that was here when we got here, but we never hooked it up and don't know anything about it. The furnace hasn't been serviced but we never had any problem with it. The hot water heater was replaced new in February 2008.

This fourth picture shows how we're using this finished room. It's big enough to be a bedroom, but can't be listed as such because it's below ground level, and because there's no bathroom on this level. There is a window behind those plum-colored curtains that is actually a window-well. The carpet here is green. We placed the futon in here because to use as a guest bedroom for out-of-town guests, or when there's a tornado warning at night.

This fifth picture shows the closet in this finished basement room. It has lots of storage space, a closet-length rod and shelf above, and a little door that leads to the dirt crawl space. There is a LOT of storage space in that crawl space.
